Presents for Primates
Friday, December 12 • 11 a.m.

Celebrate the season with the Zoo’s primate family!  Watch the primates open special presents from Zoo staff and docents as part of their enrichment program. 

This event is included with daytime Zoo admission and is free for Annual Zoo Pass members.


Noon Year's Eve
Wednesday, December 31 • 9:30 a.m.- 12:30 p.m.

Ring in the New Year family style at the annual “Noon” Year’s Eve daytime celebration hosted by the Zoo and MIX 100.7.  The party begins when the Zoo opens with games, arts and crafts, live entertainment, educational displays and more.  Families can ring in the New Year with noisemakers, hats and a juice toast as they watch the clock strike 12 NOON.  Plus, don’t miss the special character appearances by Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob and Patrick!


This event is included with daytime Zoo admission and is free for Annual Zoo Pass members.            


ZOOZoom 5k
Saturday, February 28 • Run/Walk 7:30 am (check-in 6:30 am);
& Fun Run 9 am (check-in 7:30 am)

Join Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo for the 10th annual ZOOZoom, a 5K run that winds through the Zoo and along the scenic Hillsborough River.  Registration cost includes admission to the Zoo for the day for the entrant only, t-shirt and post-race refreshments.  All Early Bird registrants are guaranteed a t-shirt; others available while supplies last.

Early Bird registration through Feb. 13 is $30. After February 13, registration is $35. Walk-ups are accepted the day of the run.

Orangutan Egg Hunt
Friday, April 3 • 11 a.m.

Watch the Zoo’s Bornean orangutan family have some Easter fun with their own egg hunt, an annual treat for the primates and zoo guests.

This event is included with daytime Zoo admission and is free for Annual Zoo Pass members.            


Party for the Planet (Enrichment Day/Earth Day)
Saturday, April 18 • 9:30 a.m. – 5 p.m.

Celebrate the living Earth at the Zoo with a day of family fun and discovery.  Learn new ways to connect to the environment and make a difference in conservation by spending the day with the animals who share our planet.  Enjoy a wide variety of animal enrichment activities, educational displays and exhibits throughout the Zoo. 

Enrichment Day activities are included with Zoo admission.


Día Del Niño (Day of the Child)
Sunday, April 26 • 9:30 a.m.-5 p.m.

¡Vamos al zoológico! -- Let’s go to the Zoo!  Join the Zoo for the 5th annual cultural festival Día del Niño, or Day of the Child, featuring character appearances by both “Dora the Explorer” and “Go Diego Go” from Nick Jr.™  Día del Niño is observed in many Latin American countries as a day to celebrate childhood. The Zoo’s event features a variety of family activities and entertainment including character appearances, music and on-air personalities from Univision Tampa, La Maxima, piñata enrichments for Zoo animals, bilingual narrators and signs, and a variety of vendors. 

This event is included with daytime Zoo admission and is free for Annual Zoo Pass members.

The Zoo transforms into a whimsical world of holiday magic with 16 nights of holiday delights. Meet Santa and his merry mammals – REAL REINDEER, and jump for joy in the Reindeer Games area. More merriment awaits with a million twinkling lights, a charismatic colony of African penguins, charming animated displays, Florida “flurries,” free Zoo rides and traditional holiday treats. February 13-14 6:30 - 10 p.m.

In honor of Valentine’s Day, singles, couples and groups of friends (ages 21 and up) are invited to the Zoo for a lighthearted look at love in the animal kingdom. This 11th annual tour and dinner will entertain guests with interesting stories about the pairing, partnering and mating habits of our animal
residents. Guests are welcomed with champagne and up-close animal encounters, keeper talks and a romantic dinner. The event is open bar. The event will last approximately 3 hours. Reservations are required.

Saturday, April 11 • 6:30 p.m.

Join the area’s top business and community leaders at Karamu XXVII, the Zoo’s signature annual black-tie gala, hosted by 2015 Event Chairs, Karessa Lasher and Paola Schifino. Enjoy cocktails, up-close animal encounters, seated dinner, silent and live auctions, live entertainment and dancing at this very special event.
