Zoo School Program, Party & Camp Catalog
Over the summer, the Zoo School at Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo is headquarters for more than 100 week-long camps for students who have completed K-8th grades. Kids and teens can learn about nature, science and the animal kingdom while hiking through the Zoo, exploring behind-the-scenes and cooling off in the Zoo's water play areas. Adventure camps include animal encounters, keeper talks, educational shows, games, crafts and more.
A typical day at Summer Camp Includes:
- Zoo hikes
- Classroom lessons with pictures and artifacts
- Daily animal encounter or animal enrichment
- Activities based on the weekly camp theme
- Arts and crafts projects
- Animal shows
- Animal feedings
- Keeper talks
- Educational videos
Camp begins PROMPTLY at 9 a.m. and ends at 4 p.m.. Monday through Friday. If you need to drop your child off before 8:55 a.m. or pick them up after 4 p.m., you MUST sign up for Extended Care.

Hillsborough County School Holiday Camps
No School? No Problem! K-8th grade students, join Tampa's Lowry Park Zoo for fun and education during school breaks.
A typical day at camp includes:
• Zoo hikes
• Classroom lessons with pictures & artifacts
• Daily animal encounter or animal enrichment
• Arts & crafts projects
• Animal shows
• Animal feedings
• Keeper talks
• Educational videos
Time: 9 a.m. to 4 p.m.
Morning (AM) Extended Care: 7 a.m. to 9 a.m.
Afternoon (PM) Extended Care: 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.

*All prices are per child and include one t-shirt that must be worn daily.
Parents' Night Out
Looking for more than just a babysitter? Trust your children to the professional Education Department staff at the Zoo. Take advantage of our reliable service that includes entertainment, a pizza snack, and drinks while you go out and have a wild time!
• Ages 3-10 (must be potty trained)
• Dates: July 11, August 8, September 12, October 3, November 14 &
• Drop off at 5:30 p.m., Pick up at 11 p.m.
• $30 for one child, $10 for each additional child. ($40 for one child, $20 for each additional child for October's ZooBoo and December's Wild Wonderland)
• One week advance registration is required

Home School Days at the Zoo
Did you know that Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo offers WILD Homeschool Days opportunities? Homeschool students and families are invited to attend from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. for exclusive hands-on fun activities. Homeschool Days feature structured learning opportunities for Kindergarten-8th grade students inclusive of discovery stations, guided tours, and self-guided explorations of the Zoo and 1,300 animals!

Offer is valid on designated Home School days only. Prices include program and zoo admission. Pay at the main entrance at Tampa’s Lowry Park Zoo. Guest must show home school verification to receive offer. (Example includes a copy of county letter of intent, involvement with local support groups, non-traditional school or umbrella school or involvement in state organizations such as FPEA, CHESS or HSLDA). Verification is required at Ticket Window when picking up your tickets.
Home School Group Rates for Grades Pre-K-12
- 1 free chaperone per 5 student ages 5 and under
- 1 free chaperone per 10 students ages 6 and up and mixed groups (ex: a group with K-2nd graders)
- Free parking
- Minimum of 15 paying visitors required for group rate
- Payment must be made collectively, not individually, and paid on arrival

Do you love animals? Do you hope to work in a zoo one day? This workshop is a perfect opportunity to learn more about animal-related careers. It includes, enrichments or husbandry experience, an animal encounter, and a behind-the-scenes look at the caring for the animals in the Zoo.

Reptiles and Aquatics
Join us for a closer look at the Zoo’s scaly and slimy residents- reptiles, amphibians, fish and more. This experience includes an up-close encounter with one of our reptile animal ambassadors and a behind-the-scenes look at our herpetology and or aquatics department.
